This thing is called the Bedside Saddle. The name sounds really weird, but the product actually looks quite useful (and tasteful).
The faux-leather organizer slips between the mattress and the bed frame and has five pockets that keep everything from magazines to paperbacks to remotes and iPods close at hand but off of your cluttered nightstand.

These gorgeous modern wall plates were designed by Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal. They feature a mythical bull and swan in porcelain with gold highlights.
If you're not familiar with Bjorn Wiinblad (I certainly wasn't), his work was the inspiration for Jonathan Adler's Utopia series.

I've been eying the Jay desk and hutch for several months now. It's a great piece for a living room or bedroom that you need to eek a little office space out of.
It's only available on sale in black. There's a $15 delivery charge for the desk, but it's still a steal at $150 for the desk and $80 for the hutch.
Sears is the latest big box retailer to surprise me with stylish finds.
I ran across this retro bench chair. It's upholstered in black vinyl with white piping and a special kit included with each chair allows you to combine multiple chairs into a love seat or sofa.
I found this fun updated settee on the Web site of a local Dallas shop called Kacky & Carl.
It's upholstered in zebra chenille with blue dupont silk piping and has a hand-painted distressed frame.

I've been through the "New at Ikea" section a few times now, but I know I've missed some great finds.
Case and point, these two discoveries I poached from some of my favorite decor blogs.
Casasugar found this amazingly well-priced Ange chair (just $129). It's made from rattan-like woven paper and has a great, organic shape. I only wish it came in a few more colors.
And Notcot posted about Ikea's first foray into wall decals. The collection of 2-D photo frames is just $15.99.
I never would have thought to hang a mirror in the garden. But if you have a small patio or courtyard garden, this is a great way to bring in light and the illusion of space.
Crate Barrel has this 19.75" square indoor/outdoor mirror on sale for $79.
Ikea has some really impressive items in their new summer collection, all at the reasonable prices you'd expect. In fact, I think you could deck out your entire deck for about the cost the average retailer's patio set.

This set of five nesting lotus bowls from Etsy seller Whitney Smith would make a stunning, organic centerpiece for a dining table. They look lovely from the top, as well as from the side.
You could even float a candle in the center for a little ambiance.
West Elm's site has been hosting a fairly sizable sale for at least the last 2 months. They seem to add new items every week, and I just found two items I've been eying marked down.
These Merge Nesting Tables have been marked down from $229 to $180 for the set of two.
And the Wire-base Table Lamp I've been craving for my living room has been marked down from $99 to $79.
I've never had much luck finding a decent wastebasket.
I can't justify paying more than $20 for something I'm going to shove in the corner and throw garbage in. And anything affordable is dull, clunky, or just plain ugly.
I just bought a plain-white $5 one for my bathroom from Target. But I'm thinking of trading up for one of these Artala wastebaskets from Umbra. They're fun, pretty and totally affordable at $18.

I can't decide whether or not I'm on board with this, but West Elm has a new bean bag coffee/side table ($179) available as part of their spring collection.
I think the tailored square shape definitely gives this rec-room staple some class. And I like that the piece can double as extra seating or a foot-rest.

I'm in the middle of a massive kitchen overhaul. My tiny 1920s kitchen was just stripped to the bare bones to be replaced with a vintagey-modern new-and-improved version of itself (complete with dishwasher!). It's going to be a long two weeks of microwave pizza and cereal, but I know it will all be worth it.

Urban Outfitters is quickly becoming my favorite place to browse for cheap, quirky accessories and reasonably priced furniture. Not every sticks-and-bricks location stocks a lot of home decor items, so it's best to check their site frequently.
