They are either too plaina nd blah, or too "whimsical". i do not what an apron with some silly phrase or a cartoon character on it! My favorite kitchen accessory would have to be my W.S. silicone basting brush. It comes in 4 fun colors. I use it every time I grill during the summer which is almost every night and its so easy to keep clean until most brushes.

My favorite kitchen accessory is my herb chopper and bowl shaped cutting board. Perfect for whipping up some pesto or chopping some fresh rosemary. Sure I could use a knife and regular cutting board, but what fun would that be? Although the beautiful apron would quickly replace it as my favorite accessory. :)

I'd say my chef's knife, though that's more fundamental than an accessory. My silicone hot pads are great accessories--I never feel any warmth from objects I pull out of the oven, and they double as trivets.

my favorite kitchen accessory is probably my cuisinart blender/food processor. i bought it brand new for $20 off of cragislist and i use it almost daily. it's such a great spacesaver in a tight kitchen and it works like a charm.

my favorite accessory is one of those tweezer things that is like 2 chopsticks held together with a spring in the middle. it's super handy.

My favorite kitchen accessory, among many, in the end has to be my coffeemaker. Sleek, black, yet modestly priced, its charms are beyond number.
It's got a lovely little retro "Mr. Coffee" logo on the front that takes me back to simpler times, when my mother's kitchen was avocado and gold and our den carpet was orange shag and caught all the crumbs from her peanut butter cookies.
It has a removable basket with few crevices in which encrusted moist grounds can lurk to taint the fresh brew with their noxious taste.
It has a clear glass measuring carafe which is very useful for measuring liquids in amounts like 6 cups, or 3 quarts.
And it has a timer which I can easily set so that fragrant strong coffee is waiting when I weave my drowsy way into the kitchen after a night spent battling the forces of Evil in my dreams.
Truly, I love my coffeemaker.

Ok Ok, I have actually 2 things that I can call my favorite Kitchen "helpers". My garbage disposal and dishwasher, you see my husband and I just recently moved for the first time in our 10 years as a military family on to POST HOUSING, we have always lived off post. We in the 3 homes we have lived in during that time we never had a garbage disposal or a working dishwasher, so when we just moved on to post( a couple of months ago) the thrill of knowing we had both (and working) was so cool, we literally feel we have moved up a lil bit in the appliance world. So for now those are my two favorite things in the kitchen.

My favorite kitchen tool is a 12" long wooden stick. The top is carved and beveled. It is about 1/4 in thick at the bottom and a bit wider at the top. I don't know the original purpose or name of "the stick" but I use it many times a day.My mother gave it to me about 13 years ago. It is like the stem of a wooden spoon. I use it to stir& test pasta,stir pasta sauce, mix cake batter, roll dough, smash and bang (garlic,nuts,meat etc), shape jelly-log cookies, poke food down the disposal,and so on. It can take heat, cold, it's easy to wash. It is also easy/comfortable to handle/hold. I only wish I had another one.

My favorite kitchen accessory is a handed-down Kitchen Aide mixer from my in-laws, that was little-used by them and was passed on to me when they were visiting and saw me make bread by hand and using a wimpy hand-mixer to make a cake. It now has its home in my kitchen, were it earns its keep on regular basis.

I don't have anything as pretty as that apron in my kitchen (yet!). Right now my favorite accessory is this ancient old wooden spoon. It' worn and sturdy and I just love the way it feels in my hand and when I'm stirring/scraping/scooping with it. If I win the apron I may dress the spoon up with a pretty ribbon or something. :)
